Memory Lane

I am on the hunt for a book I need at school. I couldn't find it on my school shelf, so Eric and I searched the attic and storage for Rebecca's books. As I was going through the books, Rebecca had a good time pulling out the ones she remembered reading as a toddler. She had a good time rereading them and insists that we read A Bad Case of the Stripes together.

CSMS Huskie Cheer Mom

I think cheerleading tryouts are harder on the moms than the girls. Rebecca finished up her first tryouts for middle school today. The results were posted by about 8:45 tonight. She and her friends promised that they wouldn't call each other with the results. They would only text each other and say the results were posted. We were out the door in 2 minutes when we got the text from Hannah. Here are the results:

Full Circle

Life has made it's full circle in the Liles' house. Rebecca is following in her mom's footsteps and trying out for the middle school cheerleading squad. She started with practice tonight. She will go tomorrow and tryouts are on Friday. They will post the list of girls making the squad by 9 a.m. on Saturday morning. I am a nervous wreck.

Hair fixed, make up refreshed, clothes ironed, and ready to go!!

After practice today, she went to her tumbling class. SHE DID HER ROUNDOFF BACKHANDSPRING BY HERSELF!!! We were so proud!! Here is a video of her doing the much anticipated skill:

Dance, Dance Revolution

Rebecca chose to take dance as one of her elective classes in 6th grade. At the end of the quarter, the class had to have a dance performance. Here are some pictures of her performance. Blogger is being stubborn and won't let me upload a video.

Rebecca has been working so hard to be able to do a roundoff backhandspring. She FINALLY did it by herself on the tumble track last week. It gave her just the confidence she needs to get it on the floor.

Eggs, Eggs, Eggs

We traveled to Donna's in order for Rebecca to dye Easter eggs. This is a tradition her Granna started with her when Rebecca was 6 months old. We have gone from Rebecca sitting on the table with nothing but a diaper on to Rebecca taking care of everything.

Rebecca insisted on dyeing 36 eggs. After lunch, Eric took them out and hid them. Rebecca went on an egg hunt all by herself. As tradition goes, Eric hid them well. However, Rebecca prevailed and found them all.

May the tradition continue....
