Webkinz Extravaganza

Webkinz Day Extravaganza

Rebecca is addicted to Webkinz. They are celebrating their 3rd anniversary with a weekend of activities at retailers. We went online to find the closest retailer participating with all of the games. The closest one was in downtown Columbia at Bo Beep Toy Store. We set out for a day of fun. The store was doing different games every hour, so we had to fill time in between activities by shopping at local stores. Rebecca was able to do face painting, gumball guess, and the gem hunt. She came away with about 4 free Webkinz, free trading cards, and a free Webkinz bracelet. We also bought some Webkinz clothes and animals. Her favorite, a husky. Her middle school mascot will be a husky. She's already preparing for school spirit.

Sunday Surprise

We got a phone call today around lunch time from a dear friend. She wanted to bring the kids by to see us. We haven't seen them in 5 years.
Pamelia, Lindsay, and Logan stopped by on their way back to Effingham County, GA. They moved there about 5 years ago due to Rusty's job. Lindsay and Logan were both in my kindergarten class when I taught at Red Bank. Pamelia was a dream mom. She was always there when I needed her and went the extra mile to help out with our class. She even watched Rebecca for 1 school year. What a great role model for Rebecca!!
The kids are all grown now. Logan is in the eigth grade and Lindsay the seventh. They are beautiful children. We missed seeing Landon and Rusty. Maybe on their next trip.

I can't believe I didn't take any pictures. However, it was great to see old friends.

The Game Plan

During spring break, Rebecca and I rented a pile of movies to watch during the week. One of our favorites was The Game Plan. She and I watched it while Eric was at work. We new immediately that it was one he would like and we needed to watch it as a family. We all sat down Saturday night to watch it while Lexi was here. The movie went on and before we new it, we heard a noise coming from Eric's couch. He was crying. He's just a big ole' teddy bear on the inside!!
Look carefully. You can see the tear rolling down his right cheek.

It's A Girl Thing

Rebecca has had a bad habit of chewing her fingernails. It is a nervous habit that she's had for a few years. She started asking about 2 weeks before Easter if she could get her nails done. I told her that if she would quit chewing her fingernails, I would take her. That did it!! She quit chewing her nails. It was off to the nail place over spring break. Her friend, Lexi, went along with us. She had a plain manicure. They had a great time being pampered. We came home and painted each other's toesnails.
