CSMS Literacy NIght

Rebecca's school does a summer reading list. They had their kickoff/book fair to introduce the books and buy one get one free. The cheerleaders made up a cheer to promote the program and performed for the audience. They did a great job.

They got their uniforms at practice today, so I didn't get to see her in it until she came around the corner at the school. When I saw her, I started crying. She made me so proud to be her mom. She looks adorable in her new uniform. She was very proud of it, too.

I know this is going to be a great adventure!!

Kids Play

Rebecca has been asking for sidewalk chalk since watching so much t.v. last week. We finally picked some up Saturday night. Rebecca took them outside today to get a little creative. Here are a few of her creations.

Summertime Is Around The Corner

Ahhh!! The dog days of summer are just around the corner. A month ago the pool looked like a pond that was missing lily pads. We didn't keep it up over the winter and it was pure green. Eric has worked hard over the past month to get it shocked and back to swimming condition. He finally had success this week. We are looking forward to a summer full of swimming fun. Come on over and join us!!

Eric was giving tickets to the NASCAR All Star race. He went with a couple of co-workers and had a good time.

Doctor Visits

Rebecca has been to the doctor 4 times this week. She started last weekend with a fever and the sniffles. I took her to the doctor on Monday. She was diagnosed with pneumonia. The doctor told us to return on Wednesday if she still had a fever. Guess what...we were back at the doctor on Wednesday. The doctor sent her for an xray to check out exactly what was going on in her lungs. They called us back that afternoon and told us it would just have to run its course. She started feeling better that night and we thought we were on the road to recovery. I woke her up Thursday morning and she was running a fever again. By Thursday night, her ear was hurting. Eric took her back to the doctor on Friday. She had a severe ear infection. She had to have a shot of rocephrin and a new antibiotic prescription. Friday night she stared breaking out with a rash on her legs. Saturday morning it was spreading down her legs. Back to the doctor we go. The doctor is puzzled with the rash. She said it is not a typical medicine reaction or contact reaction. She doesn't know exactly what it is. She told her to stop the antibiotic for a day, take Zyrtec and see what she looked like tomorrow. I sure hope we don't have to return to the doctor. She is feeling better this afternoon. The Zyrtec appears to be taking care of the rash.

Fishing Trip

Eric went fishing in Florida for a week with my Dad and some of his friends. They started out fishing in the Everglades. They caught around 800 fish. Mid-week, they moved to somewhere else in Florida. (I think it was Lake Astor.) They didn't have any luck there. Dad's boat had a leak in his boat that they just couldn't seem to fix completely. While they didn't catch many fish there, they had a good time being together.

Working At The Car Wash

We are in the thick of fundraising for Rebecca's cheerleading costs.  The girls had their first carwash at Sonic today.  I'm not sure how much money they made, but they had a good time.  They washed cars, took turns cheering at the road, and then had a water fight.  It was a beautiful day for a car wash.
(Pictures are in the wrong order.  Blogger won't let me move them.)
