Sumo's

Our dear friends from NC, Ronnie and Ann, came to visit us this weekend. We had a blast. The girls went on a major shopping adventure on Saturday while the men watched football and hang up blinds. Since neither wives likes to cook, we ate out. We introduced them to FATZ Cafe on Friday night. We all enjoyed the delicious rolls. On Saturday night, we went to Sumo's in Lexington. It was the first time Rebecca had ever been to a Japanese restaurant. She fell in love and wants to go back for her birthday. Here are some photos (taken with my camera phone) of our fun at Sumo's.
Our cook getting started.

Rebecca using chopsticks. They had them bound together with rubberbands and a little piece of paper wedged in so they were easy to use.

Ronnie catching the flying shrimp. He was the only one at the table that caught there's.

Building an onion volcano.

It's going to blow.

Thanks for a great time, Ronnie and Ann. Come back soon!!! We'll check out some new restaurants.

What Was He Thinking?

We were at Target tonight. While I was getting a prescription refilled, Eric and Rebecca found their way back to the Halloween costume isle. I made my way to the back and was looking at Halloween treats for my class when I heard them goofing off. I went on a hunt. When I went around the corner, this is what I saw:

(It's not the best photo because I only had my camera phone.)

He also had on big, black gorilla gloves. He had just put his hands over Rebecca's eyes to scare her. Now we know what he would look like if he had any hair.

Then he thought he would be a bee and try to sting us. Unfortunately, there wasn't a stinger on the costume.

Doesn't he make a cute bumble bee?

You've gotta love my husband. He's one of a kind.

A New Bed

Eric and I bought new furniture when we bought our house. We shopped all weekend in the spring for a bedroom suite. Our new house has a huge master bedroom, so we were looking for a king sized bed. On Eric's way back to the hospital after that weekend, he stopped at a furniture store in SC. He found a BR suite. He had the salesman fax me a picture of it. He knew exactly what I was looking for and he found the perfect bedroom suite for us. The only problem was, the headboard, footboard, and night stands weren't in stock. They would have to be ordered.

After waiting 3 1/2 months, we finally got the new pieces. I almost need a step stool to get up on the bed. I am absolutely in love with our new room.

Watch Out Mars Hill~There's A New Driver on The Road

Where did time go?It seems like just yesterday that I was going to Asheville to see my new born nephew. But alas,my nephew turned 15 this past Sunday. He got his learner's permit on Tuesday. He was getting to drive some, until he scard Jennifer twice by going into the other lane. I wonder if he will have to stop on the middle of the hill. Stop the car. And restart the car. Oh wait...he's not learning to drive a stick shift like I had to learn with. Good luck, Jordan(and Jennifer/Anthony).

Rebecca and I were able to go up to Momma Hope and Grandads to celebrate with Jordan and all of the family. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Sagebrush. Jordan was not too happy when they came out singing to him. We all enjoyed his oreo sundae. Then it was back to the house for cake and ice cream. It was great being able to celebrate with him. I haven't been able to do that since he turned 1. I love you, Jordan!!

Here's the birthday "dog" in his new chair. I wanted to steal it from him, but they wouldn't let me.

Logan loves his "Bubba". I'm not sure who really blew out the candles. Jordan is really good with Logan.

Violin in the House

Rebecca is taking a strings class at school. She is playing the violin. She has been diligent in practicing. Right now she is only strumming it with her fingers until she learns the notes.

She couldn't wait to play for Granna and Momma Hope and Grandad.

Where's My Life?

Well, with the beginning of school, comes no life for me. Gone are the days of curling up with a good book or magazine and relaxing. I have been spending hours and hours trying to stay above water at school. I know it usually calms down after a few weeks, but right now I feel like I'm drowning. I can't seem to get anything done at school. I stay until 5:30-6:00 and then work until 11:00 when I get home. Thank goodness Eric understands.

Having said that....I love my class and school. I am sooo excited about being back in a top notch school system.
